Tom Hardy returns for MobLand season 2 on Paramount Plus September 18, but only after a real-life fallout almost killed the show.

Tom Hardy MobLand season 2 is happening, and honestly, we weren’t sure it would. After reports surfaced that Hardy had a “fallout” with producers and briefly exited the series, the future of Guy Ritchie’s British crime drama looked about as stable as a mob informant with a target on his back. But a recent meeting in London smoothed things over, Hardy is back, and Paramount Plus just dropped the first teaser with a locked premiere date: September 18, 2026.

The teaser doesn’t reveal much—this is a crime family show, secrecy is basically in the DNA—but it confirms that the Harrigan family empire is fracturing. Conrad Harrigan (Pierce Brosnan) and Maeve Harrigan (Helen Mirren) are still holding court, but rising rivals are circling like vultures. Harry Da Souza, Hardy’s street-smart fixer, is walking a “dangerous tightrope” as tensions within the family intensify. Translation: lots of scowling, lots of violence, and probably at least one scene where Hardy mumbles something menacing while adjusting his collar.

Tom Hardy MobLand season 2 adds new blood to the cast. Johnny Flynn and Ophelia Lovibond join the ensemble in undisclosed roles, which means they could be allies, enemies, or the kind of wild cards that make British crime dramas so addictive. The returning cast includes Paddy Considine as Kevin Harrigan, Joanne Froggatt as Jan Da Souza, and Jasmine Jobson as Zosia. Ten episodes will drop weekly, because Paramount Plus knows that withholding content is the best way to keep us paying.

What makes this season particularly intriguing is the behind-the-scenes drama. Tom Hardy MobLand season 2 almost didn’t happen because of Hardy’s reported dissatisfaction with the production. The fact that he returned after a “breakthrough” meeting suggests either the money got better or the creative direction shifted in his favor. Either way, fans win. Hardy’s performance as Harry was the highlight of Season 1—a twitchy, dangerous presence who could switch from charming to terrifying mid-sentence.

The teaser shows Harry taking a breather from his “fixing” duties, which in this universe means beating people, blackmailing people, or burying people. Maeve Harrigan dresses like the apex predator she is. Conrad takes what’s his, possibly what’s yours too. It’s all very Ritchie—stylish, violent, and slightly absurd.

Tom Hardy MobLand season 2 arrives at a crucial moment for Paramount Plus. The streamer needs hits, and this is one of their biggest bets. If the show can maintain the momentum of its first season while deepening the Harrigan family dysfunction, it could become the prestige crime drama that keeps subscribers from canceling after Star Trek ends.

September 18. Mark it. And maybe send Hardy a thank-you note for not walking away.
