Josh Brolin is doing an AMA this Friday, and if you think he is just going to talk about Thanos, you have not been paying attention to his absolutely stacked 2026 schedule. The man is everywhere right now, and the timing of this Q&A suggests he has something to say that goes way beyond snap memes and purple face paint.
Brolin has four major projects dropping in 2026 alone. He is reprising Gurney Halleck in Dune: Part Three, which wraps Denis Villeneuve’s epic trilogy in what will likely be one of the biggest films of the year. He is starring in Ridley Scott’s The Dog Stars, a post-apocalyptic drama that sounds exactly like the kind of prestige project Brolin gravitates toward when he is not busy destroying half the universe. He is also in Brian Duffield’s Whalefall, reuniting him with Weapons costar Austin Abrams for what is being described as a claustrophobic underwater thriller that sounds absolutely miserable in the best way. And then there is The Running Man, Edgar Wright’s adaptation of the Stephen King novel, where Brolin plays the antagonist opposite Glen Powell.
Oh, and he is also narrating an IMAX documentary called Horse Power about wild mustangs, because apparently Brolin has decided that 2026 is the year he does literally everything including voiceover work for horses.

The AMA is scheduled for Friday, October 9, at 9:00 PM ET, with the thread going live Wednesday around midday. Brolin has a history of being surprisingly candid in these settings. His 2014 AMA was chaotic in the best way, full of self-deprecating jokes and random tangents about his personal life that had nothing to do with whatever movie he was promoting. This time, the questions will almost certainly center on whether Cable is coming back now that Deadpool and Wolverine has cracked the multiverse wide open, whether Thanos could ever return, and what it is like to be the only actor to play two different Marvel characters in the same cinematic universe.
Brolin is the only actor to have pulled off that double duty, playing Thanos across Infinity War and Endgame while also portraying Cable in Deadpool 2. His four-film Fox contract for Cable was effectively shelved after Disney acquired the studio, but the multiverse has a way of resurrecting dead contracts. If he is asked about a Cable return, his answer could be genuinely revealing rather than the usual diplomatic non-answers actors give when they are under NDA.
The AMA also lands right as Dune: Part Three is generating serious awards buzz, which means Brolin might drop some behind-the-scenes details about Villeneuve’s direction, the brutal desert shoot, or whether this really is the end of the saga. He might also tease something about Whalefall or The Running Man, both of which have been kept relatively under wraps compared to his franchise work.
Bottom line: this is not a routine promotional stop where an actor pretends to care about your questions for forty-five minutes. Brolin is at the center of multiple franchises, multiple genres, and multiple conversations right now. His AMA could be the most interesting actor Q&A of the year. Set your reminders. Prepare your questions. And maybe ask him about the horse documentary, because someone has to and it might be the most entertaining answer he gives.
