The divorce was announced by People magazine on Monday. The two, according to the outlet’s source who is close to the couple, “have been separated for a while now but are still living under the same roof.”

“In regards to the news that came out about us today… Any claims regarding us divorcing are untrue,” Richards, 54, and Umansky, 53, wrote in joint statements Tuesday.

The pair wrote in their letter that their marriage had experienced its “most challenging year” and that they had “had a rough year.”

However, they have a great deal of love and respect for one another. No one has done anything wrong, the pair continued.

While it may be amusing to guess, rumors should not be made up to fit a more sensational story, the reality TV stars requested to “work through our issues privately.”

Three daughters—Alexia Simone, 27, Sophia Kylie, 23, and Portia, 15—belong to the couple. Farrah Brittany Aldjufrie, Richards’ oldest child, arrived on the scene when the reality TV star got hitched to Guraish Aldjufrie from 1988 until 1992. She is now 34 years old.

On Monday, Richards posted a photo with Umansky on her Instagram Story, in which they are commemorating the birthday of television personality Faye Resnick. Umansky also reposted the image on his Instagram Story.

Following Richards‘ appearance in a photo without her wedding band, Umansky denied allegations that their marriage was having problems, which led to the couple’s separation. In a recent episode of “Two T’s in a Pod,” hosted by Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave and Tamra Judge, Umansky declared, “We’re not getting divorced.”
