Remember when The Angry Birds Movie felt like a punchline about Hollywood running out of ideas? Well, we’re three movies deep now, and the franchise has somehow outlasted most of the serious adult dramas from the same era. The new poster for The Angry Birds Movie 3 has landed, and it reveals that Red’s biggest challenge this time isn’t a pig fortress or a slingshot malfunction. It’s fatherhood. Red is now a dad of three, and honestly, that character development feels more ambitious than most live-action blockbusters manage in their entire run.

The poster shows Red looking significantly more stressed than usual, which makes sense when you learn his children include a creative teenager named June, an adventurous son named Glider, and a literal hatchling called Olly. There’s also a pet spider named Fuzzy, because apparently Red’s life wasn’t chaotic enough already. Jason Sudeikis is back voicing the world’s most irritable bird, alongside Josh Gad as Chuck, Rachel Bloom as Silver, and Danny McBride as Bomb. The returning cast alone is enough to justify the price of admission for anyone who enjoyed the first two films.

But the real story here is the absurdly stacked list of new voices. Emma Myers and Walker Scobell play Red and Silver’s kids, which means Wednesday Addams and Percy Jackson are now siblings in bird form. Tim Robinson joins as a character named Porkchop, which feels like a personal gift to comedy fans. MrBeast, Salish Matter, and Psalm West also appear, because why wouldn’t a six-year-old Kardashian-West child make his voice acting debut in a movie about projectile birds? The casting is either genius or completely unhinged. Possibly both, and we’re not complaining either way.

The plot centers on Red balancing his greatest challenge yet: being a father of three while simultaneously saving the world. It’s a surprisingly relatable premise for a film based on a mobile game where you fling birds at green pigs. John Rice is directing, with DNEG handling animation duties. The film hits theaters on December 23, 2026, in RealD 3D, because apparently we still do that and audiences still pay extra for it.

What makes The Angry Birds Movie 3 genuinely interesting is how shamelessly it commits to its own ridiculousness. This isn’t a movie pretending to be something it’s not. It’s a loud, colorful animated comedy about birds with anger issues and complicated family dynamics. The poster embraces that energy completely. Red looks tired. He looks like a man who hasn’t slept in three years and is about to fight a pig army anyway. That’s character growth we can all relate to, especially around the holidays.

Will The Angry Birds Movie 3 win any awards? Probably not. Will it make a billion dollars? Maybe, if families need something to do between Christmas and New Year’s. But there’s something almost admirable about a franchise that knows exactly what it is and refuses to evolve beyond that. The Angry Birds Movie 3 isn’t here to change cinema. It’s here to make kids laugh and give parents ninety minutes of peace. Sometimes that’s more than enough, and this franchise understands that better than most.
