Kevin Hart comedy 72 Hours follows a millennial exec crashing a Gen Z bachelor party in Miami. Streaming July 24.

Kevin Hart comedy formula gets a Gen Z remix in 72 Hours, and the results look absolutely unhinged. Hart plays Joe, a 40-year-old marketing executive who accidentally gets added to a twentysomething bachelor party group chat and decides his only hope for career salvation is to crash the whole thing. What follows is three days of Miami chaos involving yachts, party buses, drugs, cartels, and at least one jellyfish attack that leaves Hart’s face swollen beyond recognition.

Tim Story directs, marking his fifth collaboration with Hart after Ride Along, Ride Along 2, Think Like a Man, and Kevin Hart: Let Me Explain. Story called Hart “unquestionably the greatest comedic partner that I’ve worked with in my career,” which is high praise from a man who has directed Ice Cube, Samuel L. Jackson, and the entire Fantastic Four.

Kevin Hart Comedy Cast Brings Fresh Energy

Kevin Hart comedy 72 Hours assembles a murderer’s row of rising talent. Marcello Hernández, the Saturday Night Live breakout who became famous for his “Domingo” sketches, plays the groom’s best man and official bachelor party captain. Mason Gooding from Scream 7 and Love, Victor joins as another groomsman. Ben Marshall and Kam Patterson, also from SNL, round out the Gen Z crew who have to tolerate Hart’s millennial energy for seventy-two straight hours.

The trailer reveals Hart explaining his presence with “This is my opportunity to connect with the youth,” to which Hernández responds, “It’s really weird that you came. I had no idea you were, like, 50.” The age gap is the entire joke, and the film leans into it with the subtlety of a sledgehammer. Hart gets roasted by twentysomethings who have no respect for his executive status, no patience for his references, and absolutely no interest in his career advice.

Teyana Taylor and Andy Garcia also appear, presumably as the adults who watch this disaster unfold with varying degrees of horror. The R rating promises “pervasive language, sexual material, drug use and graphic nudity,” which is significantly more extreme than Hart’s usual PG-13 fare. This is Kevin Hart comedy unfiltered, and the trailer suggests he’s fully committed to the bit.

Kevin Hart comedy 72 Hours streams July 24 on Netflix. If you’ve ever been accidentally added to a group chat and considered just rolling with it, this is your film.
