Spider-Man Brand New Day Hides Daredevil

Spider-Man Brand New Day might secretly be hiding Daredevil in plain sight, and the internet has spent weeks squinting at trailer frames like they’re the Zapruder film. The first trailer for the July 31 release became the most-watched in history with 718 million views in 24 hours, and fans immediately began dissecting every millisecond for hidden heroes.

The theory centers on a specific moment where Peter Parker falls from his organic web cocoon and appears to be caught by something—or someone. The leading speculation is that this isn’t webbing at all, but Daredevil’s billy club catching our falling hero. The timing makes sense: the film features The Hand, the ninja organization that serves as Daredevil’s primary antagonist, and it would be narratively bizarre to include them without bringing in Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock.

This isn’t the first time Marvel has played hide-and-seek with trailers. Spider-Man: No Way Home famously edited out Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield from promotional footage to preserve their surprise appearances. The studio has proven willing to digitally remove characters, alter backgrounds, and create entirely fake shots to maintain secrecy. So the idea that they’re hiding Daredevil in a scene where Peter appears to save himself isn’t just plausible—it’s likely.

The Hand’s presence in Brand New Day suggests a street-level story that fits Daredevil’s wheelhouse perfectly. After No Way Home’s multiversal chaos, Peter is back to basic web-slinging in New York, dealing with ninja assassins and memory-wiped relationships. Who better to help him navigate that than a blind lawyer who also happens to be a vigilante?

If Daredevil does appear, it won’t be his first MCU Spider-Man crossover. Charlie Cox made a brief cameo as Peter’s lawyer in No Way Home, establishing the precedent for their partnership. But that was a wink; Brand New Day would be the full collaboration fans have been demanding since Netflix’s Daredevil ended.

The speculation has reached such intensity that even if Daredevil isn’t in the film, the disappointment will be its own news cycle. Marvel has trained audiences to expect surprises, and sometimes the absence of a rumored cameo feels bigger than its presence would have. But all signs point to Matt Murdock showing up when Peter needs him most—because that’s what lawyers do, and also what superheroes do.

Catch Spider-Man: Brand New Day in theaters July 31 and see if Daredevil finally makes his grand entrance.
