Nothing says “relaxing vacation” quite like witnessing a murder on a luxury yacht where everyone insists it never happened. The Woman in Cabin 10 trailer just dropped, and Keira Knightley’s about to have the worst cruise experience since Titanic except this time, the threat comes from fellow passengers, not icebergs.

Watch The Woman in Cabin 10, only on Netflix.

Netflix Thriller

The Woman in Cabin 10 Netflix adaptation hits the streaming service October 10, bringing Ruth Ware’s bestselling psychological thriller to life. Director Simon Stone crafted a paranoid thriller where Knightley’s travel journalist Lo Blacklock witnesses someone being thrown overboard—only to be told by crew and passengers that it never happened.

“At its core, the film depicts a woman who encounters something amiss, reports it honestly, and is dismissed because of her identity,” author Ruth Ware explained. “Many individuals can relate to that experience, and I believe we seek validation for ourselves just like Lo does.”

Cast

Beyond Knightley’s lead performance, The Woman in Cabin 10 Netflix boasts Guy Pearce as yacht owner Richard Bullmer, with supporting roles from Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Hannah Waddingham, and David Morrissey. The ensemble creates the perfect mix of wealth, privilege, and potential murder suspects.

Stone wanted to avoid typical “unreliable female narrator” tropes: “I aimed for Lo to resemble the protagonists from the paranoid thrillers of the ’70s—like Dustin Hoffman, Robert Redford, and Gene Hackman. They are characters you never doubt; you just trust they are correct.”

Psychological Terror

The trailer showcases Stone’s atmospheric direction, turning luxury yacht amenities into claustrophobic thriller elements. The Woman in Cabin 10 Netflix explores class dynamics and gender dismissal through genre filmmaking, with Knightley’s performance anchoring the paranoid atmosphere.

Produced by Debra Hayward and Ilda Diffley, with Cindy Holland and Richard Hewitt executive producing, the film promises the kind of twisty psychological thriller that Netflix audiences crave. Ware’s already planning a sequel novel, The Woman in Suite 11, suggesting this yacht nightmare might have franchise potential.
