Batman is known for his incredible knowledge about everyone’s secrets, be it friend or foe. He’s simply the greatest detective. But this time, after some digging into comics and lost movies, we’ve come up with some crazy yet lesser-known facts about him. 1. Bruce Wayne’s Name Comes From Two Real Heroes

Batman’s top-secret identity, Bruce Wayne, is a union of the names of two historical figures.

Robert the Bruce, a Scottish national hero, and Mad Anthony Wayne, a hero of the American Revolution.



2. Batman Has Defeated Darkseid Twice!

Darkseid is the end boss of the DC Universe, an evil god who can face Superman himself. Although, being a mere mortal, he has triumphed over the villain on two different occasions.

The first was when Darkseid blasted him with his Omega Sanction beams, so Batman shot him with a god-killing gun. Darkseid’s beams sent Batman back in time, but Batman returned to the present later and baffled Darkseid’s plans.



The second time was when Batman put on the Hellbat armor designed by the Justice League, which strengthened him at the expense of his own life force. He was able to tussle with Darkseid long enough to complete his mission, rescuing his son Damian Wayne.


3. Batman Used To Kill People

Though his no-killing vow is widely known today, Batman was originally a gun-toting vigilante who would first shoot his enemies then throw them in vats of acid, break their necks with karate-kicks, and hang them from Batplane.


4. The Batcave Debuted On TV

A TV serial named after The Batman aired in 1943 which introduced the concept of the Batcave, not to mention a glamourous Alfred Pennyworth.

5. Gotham Is Designed After Another Famous City

The main real-life inspiration for the fictional Gotham City is New York City. It is often said by different comic writers that Gotham City is similar to NYC at night.
