The full plot of Avengers Doomsday has apparently leaked online, and if even half of it is accurate, the Russo Brothers are about to break the Marvel Cinematic Universe in ways that will take years to repair. The film, scheduled for December 18, 2026, reportedly brings together the Avengers, the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, and multiple Spider-Men for a story that ends with everything being destroyed and reborn as Doctor Doom’s personal playground.

The leak—verified by multiple sources according to industry insiders—begins with a gut punch: Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man dies. Again. The film opens with Deadpool and Wolverine arriving in his universe, sent by Beast with a device capable of destroying realities. Wolverine sacrifices himself alongside Spider-Man to save the multiverse, while Deadpool escapes and Professor X watches another world fall. It’s a grim start that establishes the stakes: Incursions are destroying universes, and the only way to stop them is to sacrifice entire realities.
From there, the plot takes us back to Tony Stark’s funeral in Avengers: Endgame and follows Steve Rogers into the past, where he builds a life with Peggy Carter. They have a son named Jim, and receive a visit from Loki who warns them that the TVA plans to prune their timeline. Loki moves them to Earth-828—the home of the Fantastic Four and Doctor Doom—where they live happily for ten years until Doom arrives with bad news. Someone is living in this reality who shouldn’t be there, and it’s causing an Incursion. That someone is Steve Rogers.
The middle act features the Avengers versus the X-Men, a battle that turns out to be smaller than expected according to the leak. The X-Men have survived multiple Incursions and are understandably hostile to visitors. Meanwhile, Doctor Doom and Reed Richards develop a plan to build massive cannons on remaining Earths that will separate parallel realities and end the Incursions. This requires teams to visit different worlds, splitting the heroes across the multiverse.
The emotional core involves Steve reuniting with Thor and searching for Loki, who they find dead with his heart ripped out. Doctor Doom is responsible, and his true plan is revealed: allow the Incursions to happen so he can rebuild the universe in his own image and resurrect his dead family. Steve’s presence in Earth-828 triggered the Incursion that killed Doom’s wife and child during his failed experiments to stop it. In revenge, Doom kills Jim in front of Steve.
The final battle takes place in Latveria, with the Avengers, Fantastic Four, and X-Men joining forces. Thor prays to Odin, who sends an army from Valhalla. But it’s too late—the Final Incursion destroys everything except Doom, who uses Loki’s stolen powers to create Battleworld. He resurrects the fallen, erases their memories, and establishes himself as God Emperor.

If accurate, this plot represents Marvel’s most ambitious narrative yet—a genuine multiverse reset that ends with the villain winning completely. It sets up Avengers: Secret Wars as a Battleworld story, with the heroes trapped in Doom’s false reality. Whether audiences are ready for a superhero film where the bad guy triumphs remains to be seen, but after the success of Infinity War’s downer ending, Marvel may be betting they are.
Prepare for doomsday—see Avengers: Doomsday in theaters December 18, 2026, and witness the multiverse shatter.
