A thrilling new mid-season poster for Ahsoka showcases Hayden Christensen’s iconic portrayal of Anakin Skywalker, sending fans into a frenzy of excitement.

Ever since early reports hinted at Hayden Christensen’s return to the Star Wars universe, fans have been eagerly awaiting his appearance in Ahsoka. In 2022, the actor made a triumphant return as Darth Vader in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, alongside Ewan McGregor. This already had fans speculating about his possible return to Ahsoka.

The anticipation reached a fever pitch when a trailer for Ahsoka featured recycled footage from Obi-Wan Kenobi, seemingly confirming the return of Ahsoka’s master.

Ahsoka - First Poster Featuring Anakin Skywalker Released on Disney+

In a jaw-dropping reveal during Ahsoka Episode 4, titled “Fallen Jedi,” fans were treated to the live-action rendition of Anakin Skywalker, portrayed once again by Hayden Christensen. This remarkable moment has been immortalized on the latest poster for the Disney+ series.

Notably, this is the first time since 2005’s Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith that Hayden Christensen’s Anakin Skywalker has graced a Star Wars poster. The poster provides an up-close look at this rendition of Anakin, complete with his signature long hair and the prominent scar that fans remember from Revenge of the Sith and The Clone Wars.

This striking imagery aligns with Anakin’s appearance in the enigmatic World Between Worlds, as seen at the conclusion of Ahsoka Episode 4. Here, his face seems to have been de-aged, resembling his appearance during the prequel era of Star Wars.

The Significance of Anakin’s Role in Ahsoka

Following a heart-stopping encounter with her old Jedi Master Anakin Skywalker at the end of Episode 4, Ahsoka’s fate is left hanging in the balance. Many questions remain unanswered until the release of Episode 5 and the subsequent episodes.

The prevailing assumption is that the upcoming episode will primarily focus on Ahsoka and Anakin within the World Between Worlds. This could involve them catching up on events or Anakin imparting knowledge that was previously impossible.

However, the rapid release of this poster suggests that Hayden Christensen’s role as Anakin may extend far beyond a mere cameo, akin to Qui-Gon Jinn’s appearance in Obi-Wan Kenobi. The nature of Anakin’s physical form in the World Between Worlds remains a mystery. Is he a Force ghost?

According to Star Wars lore, the World Between Worlds is a realm filled with pathways and doors traversing time and space. This could potentially place Anakin in the past within the World Between Worlds, on a mission to save Ahsoka. On the other hand, Anakin’s cryptic statement , “I didn’t expect to see you so soon,” hints at an afterlife scenario.

In a way, this portrayal reimagines Christensen’s appearance as a Force ghost at the end of the re-released version of Return of the Jedi, suggesting that this might be his final appearance on the side of the Light within the Force.

Regardless of the specifics, fans are ecstatic about the prospect of more Anakin screen time in the latter half of the season.

Ahsoka is currently available for streaming on Disney+. Episode 5 is scheduled to premiere on Tuesday, September 12, at 9 p.m. ET, promising more tantalizing developments in the Star Wars universe.
