After four years of the last season’s Black Mirror debut, Charlie Brooker’s acclaimed sci-fi anthology series is making its eagerly awaited return to Netflix.

Despite being eagerly anticipated, the Emmy-winning techno-paranoia thriller, which has been compared to a modern version of The Twilight Zone, received word of its renewal on April 26 and shocked viewers with a soon-approaching release date.

“I can’t wait for people to binge their way through it all and hope they enjoy it — especially the bits they shouldn’t,” Brooker told Tudum.com of the upcoming season.

Five episodes make up the sci-fi anthology series Black Mirror, which was produced “entirely distinct from one another” by its creator Charlie Brooker in order to “keep surprising people.” Round six is expected to be the most frightening, unexpected season yet after five seasons.

Netflix provided viewers a preview of what to expect when the Emmy-winning series returns in May. In doing so, the streamer made the episode names and a synopsis for each one public.

The first episode’s title is “Joan is Awful.” According to the official summary, “An average woman is stunned to discover a global streaming platform has launched a prestige TV drama adaptation of her life—in which she is portrayed by Hollywood A-lister Salma Hayek Pinault.”

The second episode is called “Loch Henry.” According to the official description, “a young couple travels to a sleepy Scottish town to begin production on a genteel nature documentary, but finds themselves drawn to a juicy local story involving shocking events from the past.”

The third episode is called “Beyond the Sea.” In an alternate 1969, two men on a dangerous high-tech mission struggle with the effects of an unfathomable catastrophe, according to the official description.

The fourth episode is named “Mazey Day.” A troubled celebrity is pursued by nosy photographers as she deals with the fallout from a hit-and-run event, according to the official description.

The fifth episode is named “Demon 79.” Northern England, 1979, according to the official summary. A timid sales associate is instructed to execute horrible deeds in order to avert tragedy.
