Perhaps you learned his name only because of his recent three-month romance with Taylor Swift. But by then, Tom Hiddleston was already a beloved Marvel villain, James Bond short-lister, Night Manager leading man, and truly gifted wearer of suits

Tom and Tay-Tay were first spotted dancing together to a Jay-Z chart-topper at the Met Gala in May 2016. The “Folklore” singer was still dating Scottish DJ Calvin Harrisat the time.

By early June of that year, Calvin and Taylor announced that their 15-month relationship was over. The split was mutual, according to People. “There was no drama. Things just don’t work out sometimes,” an insider told the publication at the time. “No one cheated.”

Tom met Taylor’s at parents, Andrea and Scott, at their home in Nashville. The lovebirds were then seen moving and shaking at pal Selena Gomez’s Tennessee concert.

July 4, 2016, is when things between the Crimson Peak star and the country pop star got interesting. The pair celebrated Independence Day back at Taylor’s with celebrity friends Gigi HadidRyan Reynolds and Blake Lively. Tom wore a heart-shaped tattoo alongside with a tank that read “I [heart] T.S.”

By August 2016, Tom and Taylor’s relationship started to fizzle out. Us Weeklyreported that the two had their first fight due to Tom’s shooting schedule for Thor: Ragnorak. There was so much going on so it was hard making their schedules work,” a source said. “They were upset they couldn’t see each other.”

In November 2017, Taylor released her album, Reputation. The songwriter’s sixth studio album features two songs that alluded to her and Tom’s relationship. Her single, “Look What You Made Me Do” featured many symbols and imagery about her life in Hollywood as well her much-publicized feuds and relationships.
