LEGO and Marvel Join Forces Again
In a thrilling announcement for fans of both LEGO and Marvel, Disney+ has revealed the upcoming release of a LEGO Marvel special focused on the iconic Avengers.
The collaboration between LEGO and Marvel is not new; the two giants have previously worked together on various toys and merchandise, bringing the Marvel universe to life through buildable sets and collectibles. Whether it’s within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) or other corners of the Marvel multiverse, LEGO has consistently delivered exciting creations for fans.
LEGO’s Animated Specials
Beyond physical sets and toys, LEGO has also ventured into the world of animated specials, offering fans unique storytelling experiences. The Star Wars franchise has seen considerable success in this realm with “The LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special,” among others. Now, Marvel fans can look forward to a LEGO special of their own.
Introducing LEGO Marvel Avengers: Code Red
Disney+ recently made an announcement via the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) that a new LEGO special is in the works, and it’s titled LEGO Marvel Avengers: Code Red. The special is scheduled for release on Friday, October 27, promising an exciting adventure with everyone’s favorite superhero team.
A Familiar Poster with a LEGO Twist
Accompanying the announcement was the unveiling of the official poster for LEGO Marvel Avengers: Code Red. It cleverly pays homage to the MCU’s Avengers: Endgame poster, rendered entirely in LEGO bricks. Notably, the Avengers’ logo on the poster is red, in contrast to the original’s purple.
A charming touch is the inclusion of LEGO bricks appearing to disintegrate, mimicking the effects of Thanos’ snap, reminiscent of how some of the Avengers disintegrated in the Endgame poster.
Not Your Typical MCU
While LEGO Marvel Avengers: Code Red will feature beloved Avengers characters, it’s important to clarify that this special is not considered part of the MCU canon. Instead, it offers a lighthearted and entertaining take on the superhero team’s adventures.
Given the previous LEGO Star Wars special’s success, there’s potential for characters to be voiced by the actors who portray them in the MCU. In the case of “The LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special,” Billy Dee Williams and Kelly Marie Tran returned to voice their respective characters, Lando Calrissian and Rose Tico.
