Brie Larson portrays the titular role in Captain Marvel. That means that her character is always part of the action. Which leads to a big question for many fans: did Brie Larson do her own stunts in the Captain Marvel movie?

When Brie Larson dons the Captain Marvel costume, she becomes a superhero. She commands respect with her leadership skills and her sheer strength. But how strong is Larson herself? And does she do her own stunts?

Find out, ahead.

Most people probably wouldn’t profess surprise that a Marvel actor has multiple stunt doubles. Working on Marvel movies is grueling, mentally and physically, especially for a character as athletic and dynamic as Black Widow.

However, Scarlett Johansson had as many as three stunt doubles when she was working on Avengers: Age of Ultron, at least partly for a very big (or small) reason – she was pregnant at the time she shot it.

Actress Elizabeth Olsen suffered a serious bruise on her upper arm after injuring herself in a stunt for the Avengers project.

The Godzilla star portrays Wanda Maximoff and her superhero alter ego Scarlet Witch in the Marvel blockbusters, and she has taken to social media to show off a photo of her sore right bicep, which featured a large bruise.

Black Panther star Lupita Nyong’o, who plays Nakia in the film, is answering questions about what her experience was like filming Black Panther. One of her most interesting answers came in response to a question about the stunts that she had to perform in the film, and based on her description, Nakia sounds even more formidable than we had originally thought.

The Iowa-born actress, who spent many of her formative years in her parents’ home country of Zimbabwe, did her own stunts in the scene and also has high praise for costume designer Ruth Carter who created the “normal dress” she wears during that fight sequence.

Saldana’s character Gamora is a skilled assassin, so her double,  has to partake in some intense stunt-work. It’s a good thing she’s no stranger to the Marvel Cinematic Universe — she’s appeared in “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” “Agent Carter,” and “Doctor Strange,” as well.

Gunn shared this photo on Instagram, and explained the purpose of the terrifying masks

Nebula might be one of the toughest and fiercest women in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and her action scenes in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 bring that point home. But according to actress Karen Gillan her own real-life clumsiness meant that there was one epic stunt that she had to walk away from.
