HBO Max’s hit series returned on August 21, 2025, with John Cena leading a cast nearly twice the size of last season in an elaborate dance routine. This time, 17 cast members move in sync to Foxy Shazam’s “Oh Lord.” Fan favorites John Cena, Jennifer Holland, Danielle Brooks, and Steve Agee return, while fresh faces Frank Grillo, Tim Meadows, and Sol Rodriguez join the lineup. Choreographer Charissa Barton describes it as her most challenging and rewarding routine yet.
Peacemaker Season 2 Dance Took 2 Days to Nail
Unlike Season 1’s opener, which was filmed in a single day, the Season 2 Peacemaker dance took two full shooting days to complete. Steve Agee (John Economos) admitted the process was much more demanding:
“We shot the first dance number in a day. We shot this new one in two very full days. Way more rehearsal.”
Each actor was given personalized choreography videos to practice at home. Agee joked about the chaos of “babysitting twice as many people and a lot of really terrible dancers.” Gunn also confirmed that this new dance hides subtle story references, rewarding sharp-eyed fans who watch closely.
Behind the Scenes of the Choreography
Frank Grillo, reprising his role as Rick Flag Sr. from Superman and Creature Commandos, said keeping pace with such a large group was no small feat. Jennifer Holland pulled off a “Dirty Dancing”-style lift with Cena, while Freddie Stroma had to perform in his full Vigilante mask, later admitting, “Dancing in a mask is trickier than you think.”
