Pom Klementieff, a star of Guardians of the Galaxy, claims James Gunn has a specific role in mind for her to play in the DC Universe.

With the release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, James Gunn officially ended his involvement with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, although it’s likely that he’ll continue to collaborate with Pom Klementieff. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Klementieff portrayed Mantis, one of the movie’ eponymous Guardians.

For Warner Bros. and DC Studios, Gunn is now completely devoted to creating the new DCU alongside Peter Safran, concentrating on DC-based projects like Superman: Legacy. And it appears that he wants to collaborate on these new projects with some of his favorite artists, such as Klementieff.

Who will Pom Klementieff Play as?

In a recent interview with The Movie Dweeb, Klementieff joined Vanessa Kirby to promote her newest Mission: Impossible movie. During the discussion, Klementieff was questioned about whether she had spoken with Gunn about perhaps joining the DCU. She admits that they have in fact spoken, and she says that Gunn has a specific role in mind for Klementieff.

Klementieff isn’t offering any other clues as to which DCU figure Gunn has in mind for her to portray, so until a formal announcement is made, it’s up to the fans to make their own conjectures.

In any event, given their mutual goal in continuing their collaboration, it’s likely that Klementieff will enter that realm sooner rather than later. Although it’s theoretically feasible for Mantis to reappear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) after Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, it wouldn’t be under Gunn’s direction as he is currently no longer producing Marvel films due to his new obligations to the DCU.

Despite having “no clue” as to whether she will make an MCU comeback, Klementieff hasn’t precisely ruled it out.
