The DreamWorks Animation studio has come up with a new release in the theaters “Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken.” It’s a story about a teenage nerd whose favorite subject is math. She is surviving the drama of high school with her friends by going to prom to dealing with her overprotective parents. And, above all Ruby is hiding a big secret from everyone, a secret that she’s a Kraken.

The movie is directed by Kirk DeMicco, with co-direction by Faryn Pearl. The cast of the movie includes Lana Condor, Annie Murphy, Liza Koshy, Toni Collette, Jane Fonda, and more.

Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken Plot

Like any supernatural creature, Ruby lives a double life and tries to maintain both peacefully, but her attempts are not going as planned. Ruby can’t tell her friends about her being a Kraken, a squid-like creature who, legends say, destroys ships and their sailors. 15 years ago her parents moved to Oceanside, a quaint village by the water to live a peaceful life with humans on their land.

Ruby faces the biggest problem of her life when her no water rules come in between her prom. Apparently, their school prom is getting hosted on a giant boat this year. Ruby is stuck and her mother, Agatha (Toni Collette), rejects her constructed proposal video, and at the same time, Ruby learns her friends Margot (Liza Koshy), Bliss (Ramona Young), and Trevin (Eduardo Franco) — are going to attend the prom without her anyway.
