The Zootopia 2 trailer just dropped and honestly, it’s about time Disney remembered they had a goldmine sitting in their animation vault. After nine years of fans practically begging for more bunny-fox cop drama, we’re finally getting Zootopia 2 on November 26, 2025.
Snake Problems
Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman) are back, but this time they’re dealing with therapy sessions and a mysterious snake named Gary De’Snake, voiced by Ke Huy Quan. Yeah, the Everything Everywhere All at Once guy is now a cartoon snake. Hollywood is wild.

The Zootopia 2 story kicks off when Chief Bogo forces our dynamic duo into couples counseling called “Partners in Crisis.” Because apparently even animated animals need relationship therapy now. But the real drama starts when Gary De’Snake slithers into town and turns the mammal metropolis upside down.
Behind the Chaos
Director Jared Bush, who’s now Disney Animation’s Chief Creative Officer, couldn’t contain his excitement about the sequel. “It’s been an absolute joy to reteam with so many actors who made the first film so special,” Bush said. The guy’s practically bouncing off walls talking about introducing reptiles to the Zootopia universe.

Production wrapped with some serious technical upgrades. Bush revealed that one action sequence in Marsh Market – a new neighborhood for semi-aquatic mammals – was so complex they had to build out the entire environment just to make it believable. “We wanted to make sure that when you got there, the audiences got their money’s worth,” Bush explained.

The voice cast expanded beyond the returning favorites like Idris Elba and Shakira. Fortune Feimster voices Nibbles, a beaver who’s probably more entertaining than most human characters in recent movies. Quinta Brunson plays Dr. Fuzzby, a quokka therapist who’ll try to fix Judy and Nick’s partnership issues.
Musical Snake Charm
Shakira’s back as Gazelle with a new song called “Zoo,” co-written with Ed Sheeran. The single drops October 10, which gives us something to look forward to while waiting for the full movie. Michael Giacchino returns to compose the score, so expect the same emotional manipulation that made you cry during the first film.
Walt Disney Animation Studios and 20th Century Studios are clearly betting big on this sequel, especially after the original made over $1 billion worldwide and won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature.
