The first Other Mommy poster reveals Jessica Chastain’s Blumhouse thriller about a closet entity that wants inside your heart.

Universal just unveiled the first Other Mommy poster, and the image is already doing more damage to your psyche than three cups of espresso at midnight.

Other Mommy poster marks the official launch of Rob Savage’s supernatural thriller starring Jessica Chastain, Jay Duplass, and newcomer Arabella Olivia Clark as eight-year-old Bela. The film, produced by James Wan’s Atomic Monster and Blumhouse, adapts Josh Malerman’s novel Incidents Around the House and follows a family torn apart by marital strife when a closet-dwelling entity called Other Mommy begins asking Bela if it can go inside her heart.

Universal has positioned the film for an October 9, 2026 release after moving it from May, giving the marketing team a full summer to make sure you never look at a closet door the same way again. The poster itself evokes the same minimalist dread that made The Boogeyman marketing so effective, suggesting Savage understands that horror sells better in shadows than in daylight.

Other Mommy Poster Hides a Raiders Legend

The most delightful detail buried in the Other Mommy poster rollout is the cast list, which includes Karen Allen as Grandma Ruth. Yes, that Karen Allen—Marion Ravenwood from Raiders of the Lost Ark—joining the horror genre at seventy-three years old to play the grandmother who presumably has some wisdom about dealing with supernatural intruders. Allen has not appeared in a major studio horror film in decades, and her presence alongside Chastain creates a multi-generational maternal line-up that the entity will have to fight through.

The poster also spotlights Dichen Lachman, fresh off Severance, and Sean Kaufman, adding serious genre credibility to what could have been a standard Blumhouse programmer. When your grandmother survived the Temple of Doom, a closet ghost seems like manageable family drama. The poster campaign is being managed by Universal with the same precision they brought to The Odyssey, which means every image is designed to lodge in your brain and refuse to leave.

Other Mommy poster is just the beginning of a campaign that will build toward the film’s October 9, 2026 release. With a trailer already terrifying audiences in theaters and a cast that spans from horror icons to prestige television breakouts, this is shaping up to be the fall’s most unsettling family drama.
